Waterproof and Camouflage Antennas

Introduction of antennas waterproof and camouflage

We can make your antennas waterproof,

or even "invisible" by background-adapted coloring.

Based on a developed epoxy skin technology we can make any antenna structure waterproof. We call this our antenna-in-epoxy approach, suited for any outdoor applications. Cruital for the antenna-in-epoxy design is the knowledge of the permittivity and loss factor of the colored epoxy.

1. Epoxy preparation.

2. Filled the antenna with epoxy.

3. By a tailored coloring of the epoxy we can make the antenna invisible, since the epoxy skin has the same color and texture as the background, for example, a building facades. We call this solution, our camouflage-epoxy-skin for antennas.

4. Antenna with colored and textured coating

Antenna-in-Glass (AiG) Technology

If the antenna can be visable, our antenna-in-glass technology can be applied.

1. Patch antenna without epoxy coating

2. Patch antenna inside liquid "epoxy bath"

3. Patch antenna in glass after drying

4. Patch antenna in glass inside anechonic chamber

Features

  • Waterproof antennas for outdoor applications
  • ''Invisible antennas'' (or camouflaged antennas)
by adapting its color to background
  • By mixing nearly all colors can be obtained different textures are possible, e.g by mixing sand into the paint
  • Currently maximum size of coating
    800 mm x 600 mm x 100 mm

Materials

  • Structured copper plates or printed circuit boards
  • Makrolon® or ROHACELL® as low loss and low permittivity (good radiation) spacer material
  • Waterproofing by epoxy or silicon rubber coating
